The CWL is the largest organization of women in the country. Its main role
is to support the Pastor, the Parish and the community at large.

Politically, one of its major roles is to prepare and lobby for resolutions
to the government which are representative of the beliefs of Catholic women.

Currently the CWL is working on resolutions on the following issues:

Abuse of Residents in Long-Term Care Facilities

Child-Care Tax Deduction for Families
with a Stay-at-Home Parent

End Trafficking of Children

National Strategy for Suicide Prevention

Treatment of Autistic Persons

Ovarian Cancer

Effective Participation in the Application of the
Canadian Environmental Assessment Act

Aggressive Behaviour and the Mechanics of Killing
