The 7 Sacraments of our Faith

Baptism

Can be arranged through the Parish Office.  There is a two part preparation. Part One is a 45 - 60 minute in-person session with one of our Catechists.  Part Two consists of completing the Baptism preparation workbook at home.  This is followed by a rehearsal at the church.

It is preferred that the sacrament be conducted as part of a regular mass.  Please contact the office for more information.

Reconciliation

  • Saturday at 4:30pm

  • by appointment

Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God's mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion.

Confirmation

For those who attend or live in the Holy Name of Jesus Parish area or for those who are not attending anywhere please contact the office to register.

All students in grade seven or eight or older, who have not received their Sacrament of Confirmation are encouraged to prepare to do so.  Preparation classes generally start in January.

Adults who seek confirmation would normally go through the R.C.I.A. process.  However, please contact the Parish to arrange an appointment with a Catechist or with Father Wes.

The sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace enriching the recipient with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.

First Communion/Holy Eucharist

The celebration of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion will no longer be a school celebration but a parish celebration.  For those who attend or live in the Holy Name of Jesus Parish area or for those who are not attending anywhere please contact the office to register.

We invite any young person and their family who feels they are ready to approach the Church for these sacraments to contact us for more information.

Communion to the Sick

Please contact our Pastor if you or someone is ill and requires communion to be brought to them.

Matrimony

The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

Anointing of the Sick

Please contact our Pastor if you or someone you know is in hospital, elderly or chronically ill and requiring the Sacrament.

Holy Orders

Please contact our Pastor for information on the priesthood, deaconate and sisterhood
